Purnima Arora, Advocate, a Gold Medallist in LL.B.,
is a graduate from the Shriram College of Commerce, Delhi University. She did
her Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Amity Business School and
finally chose to lead in the Education sector and Legal Journalism.
Mrs Arora is the
Director General at the Universal Institute of Legal Studies, New Delhi, since its
inception in 2004, where she supervises the management of all centres, and has
a significant role to play in counselling, admissions and selection of faculty
members apart from mentoring law aspirants and lawyers.
She is the
Executive Editor of a national Law Magazine ‘Lawyers Update’.
She has also
been a part of the Universal Law
Publishing Co., the most
noted law publishers in the sub-continent,
where she has edited various legal publications by eminent authors
including Chief Justices, Judges, Senior Lawyers and Law Professors.
She has to her
credit numerous articles on legal issues published in several magazines and has
also organized various seminars on law on topics such as ‘Career in Law’,
‘Right to Information’ etc.
On the
academic side, apart from being a faculty on law at the Universal Institute of
Legal Studies, India, she takes sessions at Yangon and Mandalay, Myanmar for special
courses on Intellectual Property Law for lawyers and Officers of the Republic
of Myanmar. She is a well-known face amongst the schools across India, where she
takes up career counselling of 11th and 12th grade students
for career opportunities in law.
Having travelled
across the world, she has considerable first-hand experience of and exposure to
the ways of the world beyond.
